Earlier this month we filmed hundreds of school children singing a selection of National Anthems for the award ceremonies at the Modern Pentathlon World Cup being staged at Medway Park, 8-11 April 2010. The Medway Sporting Academy was officially launched by Paralympic gold medallist and Medway International Sporting Ambassador Danny Crates in late November.
The Medway Sporting Academy is a unique talent identification and development programme which has been devised by the Medway 2012 Team and aims to nurture young sporting talent in a structured environment.
As part of the promotion I was commissioned to film the event and produce this short film that will be used to promote the academy. You can watch it here.
The inaugural Medway Culture & Design Awards took place at Prince’s Hall in Rochester last night. I was invited to be on the judging panel earlier in the year and was then commissioned to produce motion graphics, projected slideshows and winner’s ‘reveal’ films.
The lifetime contribution award went to Zandra Rhodes who was unable to attend the event due to a family engagement in the USA, so I visited her in her London studio and filmed a short acceptance speech.
My latest film Welcome To Medway had its first public screening during Medway’s launch of the Cultural Olympiad. It was projected 40 foot high onto the side of Rochester Castle. The celebrations also included a Doodle Den workshop run by Wendy Daws and Päivi Seppälä as part of [FRAMEDWAY], my public art project.
Commissioned by Medway 2012 Team the film will be used to promote Medway nationally and internationally as both a first-class tourist destination and a sporting centre of excellence.
