Aidan Dooley from Play On Words Theatre contacted me to design a new website for his one man, award winning show  Tom Crean – Antarctic Explorer. The CMS will allow him to maintain all the tour dates and add blog articles about the shows latest performances.

We’ve just launched the Encounter website, another custom designed wordpress theme packed full with social media features. Between July and November 2011, Encounter will transform six urban sites in Medway and the boroughs of Gravesham and Swale.

The ‘encounters’ are temporary, site specific installations, performances or events developed in partnership with local community groups, which take place in familiar spaces in the heart of the community – empty shops, vacant buildings, businesses, high streets and public squares.

Encounter is produced by NKLAAP, North Kent local authority arts partnership, and supported by the Arts Council and KCC.

This month we launched a website for creative events producer Allison Young whose clients include the BBC and Royal Opera House. Another custom wordpress theme, this design is clean and minimal and allows for client management and scalability.

Visit Allison’s site to fully experience the functionality and design. For ease of management we incorporated a nice highslide gallery that dynamically draws in content from flickr and set up Allison’s profile on a number of social media platforms.

Maidstone Matters is the website for the Maidstone Local Strategic Partnership. It’s an information heavy website with an ever growing content in archive documents and presentations. Some toggle and tab functionality and some js animations help to keep this custom wordpress theme fresh and uncluttered. Take a look.

It’s been  hectic at the ranch recently. So much so that the blog has been a bit neglected. It seems that the new year has spurred on a lot of people to get a new web presence. We recently launched another two.

First to go live in 2011 was another website for Recover, counselling and clinical therapy specialists. Built on a wordpress platform this client is capable of fully managing their site’s content and structure.

Also launched was T J Marine, another wordpress design for this independent marine consultancy company.

The Wendy Daws website was launched this month. Wendy is a Medway based artist, educator/creative practitioner and rabbit lover. She often delivers community art workshops to a wide clientelle including The Kent Association for the Blind and mcch Pathways.

Wendy’s site is built on the open source WordPress platform which provides her with a flexible content management system. The website provides a variety of portfolio pages for both her artistic practice and her community and education workshops. It also features a couple of films I produced including a timelapse of her installation of Memory at Rochester Art Gallery, schools workshops for children with learning disabilities and an edit I stitched together demonstrating her Emergency Jewellery Kits. After we rebranded his print material, photographer David Brunetti’s website is launched.

David is an award-winning photographer specializing in humanitarian issues and social-documentary photography. His new website enables him to manage all of his portfolio remotely via a server based photo management system.

The Symbian Foundation released the first completely open-sourced version of its mobile phone operating system this month, a move it hopes will make it easier for developers to improve the software and create applications for use on Symbian-based phones. Majinate operates the Accredited Symbian Developer (ASD) programme on behalf of Symbian and therefore needed a style update to reinforce the new Symbian Foundation brand. We’re pleased that they have appropriately decided on a ‘western’ theme which we designed for them. Go see.

Light Vessel 21 arrived in Medway today and was berthed at Gillingham pier. LV21 is a 40 metre steel-hulled lightship being transformed into a floating cultural facility designed to provide a range of services promoting and supporting the creative industries in the Medway area and beyond, whilst celebrating and honouring the maritime traditions of the vessel. LV21 Ltd was set up by myself and Päivi Seppälä as a vehicle to celebrate Kent and Medway’s maritime heritage as well as becoming a unique venue with an individual and distinct identity, one of the area’s prime platforms for cultural activities across diverse artistic disciplines.

I will be basing my studio on the ship as soon as the initial renovation work is complete. Facilities will include a green screen studio, digital edit suite and creative workspace. Find out more about the LV21 project at the Light Vessel 21 website which I also designed.

I designed a series of motion graphics films for the Medway Sports Awards, including nominees animated slideshows, category splashes and reveal films. I also filmed this years event which was held at the St. Georges Centre. The footage will be cut into a promotional film at a later date. Congratulations to all of this year’s winners.
