Light Vessel 21 arrived in Medway today and was berthed at Gillingham pier. LV21 is a 40 metre steel-hulled lightship being transformed into a floating cultural facility designed to provide a range of services promoting and supporting the creative industries in the Medway area and beyond, whilst celebrating and honouring the maritime traditions of the vessel. LV21 Ltd was set up by myself and Päivi Seppälä as a vehicle to celebrate Kent and Medway’s maritime heritage as well as becoming a unique venue with an individual and distinct identity, one of the area’s prime platforms for cultural activities across diverse artistic disciplines. …continue reading »

The Medway Sporting Academy was officially launched by Paralympic gold medallist and Medway International Sporting Ambassador Danny Crates in late November.
The Medway Sporting Academy is a unique talent identification and development programme which has been devised by the Medway 2012 Team and aims to nurture young sporting talent in a structured environment.
As part of the promotion I was commissioned to film the event and produce this short film that will be used to promote the academy. You can watch it here.
The inaugural Medway Culture & Design Awards took place at Prince’s Hall in Rochester last night. I was invited to be on the judging panel earlier in the year and was then commissioned to produce motion graphics, projected slideshows and winner’s ‘reveal’ films.
The lifetime contribution award went to Zandra Rhodes who was unable to attend the event due to a family engagement in the USA, so I visited her in her London studio and filmed a short acceptance speech.
Dame Kelly Holmes, double gold Olympic medalist visited Medway yesterday and I was called in to film and edit a video message for the Medway Sports Awards being held that evening. With a two hour turn around it was a tight deadline but I delivered the film before returning to film Kelly later that day at a training session for the children at Featherby Junior School.
Kelly added her support to Medway’s 2012 campaign: “It’s great to see the support that Medway are giving to sport and the facilities in this area, and with the new development of Medway Park I’m sure it’s going to be a huge benefit to the community and anybody involved with sport.”
