Medway Council is determined to deliver a lasting legacy from the London 2012 Games. One of its largest and most ambitious projects to achieve this, and demonstrate the wider benefits and appeal of the Olympics and Paralympics beyond competitive sport, is Our Medway.

This short film commissioned by Medway 2012 Team will be used to promote Medway nationally and internationally as both a first-class tourist destination and a sporting centre of excellence.

rochester castle welcome to medway film projection Welcome To Medway was shot throughout the summer '08 and includes footage of individuals, club members and mass participation events such as Race For Life, the Dickens Festival, Mini Youth Games, Fuse Festival and the Medway Mile. The film had its first public screening on 27 Sept 2008 when it was projected 40ft high onto the side of Rochester Castle during Medway's launch of the Cultural Olympiad. The celebrations also included a Doodle Den workshop run by Wendy Daws and Päivi Seppälä as part of the [FRAMEDWAY] public art project, live music from Hold Tight, martial arts demonstrations and the evening culminated in a fireworks fiesta.
